Mutations: Week 22

This week marks the return of a previous Mutation- Healthpackalypse! This mutation is Versus with no more health packs for the Survivors, essentially making their health a one-way street. If you enjoy a challenge in Versus mode, then this is the mutation for you! You can play the mutation on the MPC server or on the Valve servers of your choice. We hope to see you playing the mutation!
Next week’s mutation is Developer Choice. What will they throw up next, we wonder?
Fun Night: 9/17/2010

The MPC Network will be hosting a Left 4 Dead 2 fun night tomorrow, the 17th of September. The event will start at roughly 8PM CST (9PM EST, 7PM MST, 6PM PST). If you own L4D2, then you are more than welcome to come play with us! We will be using the MPC server, so you will need to be a member of our Steamgroup in order to join the server. We’ll probably be playing some custom campaigns, which can all be downloaded right here in the Downloads section!

Community Campaign: City 17

Valve’s latest Community Campaign is City 17 by Mixmedia. The campaign is set in Half-Life: Episode 1′s City 17 level, and is a nearly-perfect recreation. The campaign goes through the underground up into the city, and ends at a train station where you must fight off a horde and wait for rescue. The campaign features co-op and versus modes for your playing enjoyment. You can play the campaign online by downloading it right here at L4DMac! Click here to download. You can play the campaign on the official Valve dedicated servers or you can play it on the MPCGamers server, which is accessible through our Steamgroup.

Valve has released an update to the popular game Left 4 Dead 2 today. This update changes the weekly mutation from Gib Fest to Hard Eight. This mutation allows you to fae up to 8 special infected at once instead of the regular 4 at a time. If that wasn’t enough of a challenge, then never fear- their spawning frequency has been increased as well! This means that you must constantly be on your guard. Next week’s mutation is developer choice… we’ll see which mutation makes a return this time!
Midnight Riders Song Release and Video

The Midnight Riders, Valve’s in-game rock stars, have released one of their popular songs to the general public available for free download right now! You can get “Save Me Some Sugar (This Won’t Take Long)” from the official Midnight Riders site right here! Also, Valve is running a special contest for those budding cinematographers out there. You can create the official music video for “Save Me Some Sugar” and win a custom guitar and gift pack from Valve. If you’re interested in entering the contest, the official rules and some assets can be found on the official Midnight Riders page.

Mutations Week 19

This week up on the Mutations front, we have a couple fan favorites making a return to the PC and Xbox 360. Due to community feedback, Valve has decided to rerelease Gib Fest for PC and Mac users, which is a mutation that gives you M60 machine guns with unlimited ammunition to blast your way through the hordes of zombies. On the Xbox 360, Chainsaw Massacre is making a return, which is a mutation that allows you to get chainsaws with unlimited fuel. Community Campaigns, Mac Version, and More

Valve, the developers of Left 4 Dead 2, have announced some interesting things in store for their popular title Left 4 Dead 2 on the official Left 4 Dead blog. Among them is community campaigns, which means that Valve will be running selected campaigns on 120 of their official servers. 
First up in the community campaigns list is 2 Evil Eyes, which is a campaign made by don set in a foresty type environment. It supports co-op and versus, and will be available for play both on the official servers and MPC’s own Left 4 Dead 2 server starting now. You can download the campaign from MPCGamers’s server page here for fast download speeds. Don’t forget that we also have many more custom campaigns all installed on our server, which you can join by joining our Steam group. All our customs installed can be found here. (more…)
