Original Left 4 Dead Released for Mac; New Community Campaign

In an amazing turn of fate, Valve has actually made a release date! Valve Time is working in our favor today, as the original Left 4 Dead has just been released for Mac. If you don’t already own the second L4D, both games are 50% off for a limited period- be sure to grab them now if you haven’t already! Here at MPC, we pretty much play only L4D2, so you can grab that by clicking here!
In other news, there is a new community campaign out for L4D2- this one is called The Haunted Forest. It seems to be a trek through a forest to reach a haunted mansion. You can download it from L4DMac right here: Click me! You can also play it on the L4DMac server. Have fun!
L4D2 Mac and the Sacrifice DLC Live!
0Thats right the L4D2/L4D and Mac versions of L4D2 are out and on the Steam servers awaiting download, its a little busy right now I personally can’t download it- because its so busy but we’ll see later tonight! So get downloading i expect we’ll have a L4D2 Gamenight in a few days!

Valve today has released a list of the new Achievements that you will be able to get in their new The Sacrifice DLC. There are five achievements to be achieved, and they seem to suggest a small amount of what the DLC will play like. What do you think? Give us your thoughts below! (more…)
New Trailer Released for The Sacrifice!

Valve has released a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming DLC, The Sacrifice. The trailer is about a minute long and is composed of prerendered scenes. The Sacrifice will be released on October 5th, the same day that L4D will be released for all you Mac gamers out there. Rejoice! (more…)
New Mutation and New Comic Released!

This week (and the next’s) mutation is Survival Versus- a personal favorite of ours here on L4DMac. You can play as the Special Infected in Versus mode, much like Survival mode. You can play this mode on the MPC server with us, as well as the Valve servers!

This week’s comic is pretty good, in our opinion!
Don’t forget that The Sacrifice DLC is coming out on October 5th! It’s free for all PC players and it also marks the first time Mac players will be able to officially play Left 4 Dead 2 without the use of CrossOver- a very happy day for all of us! We hope to see you on the server!

Community Campaign: City 17

Valve’s latest Community Campaign is City 17 by Mixmedia. The campaign is set in Half-Life: Episode 1′s City 17 level, and is a nearly-perfect recreation. The campaign goes through the underground up into the city, and ends at a train station where you must fight off a horde and wait for rescue. The campaign features co-op and versus modes for your playing enjoyment. You can play the campaign online by downloading it right here at L4DMac! Click here to download. You can play the campaign on the official Valve dedicated servers or you can play it on the MPCGamers server, which is accessible through our Steamgroup.
Week 21: Mutations, Comic Books, and Buzzlighthunter?
1So we’ll start off with mutations, this weeks Mutations is another returning mode it was first tried back in week 3 and so once again, we get Follow the Liter, a scavenge based mutation that has only one gas can on the entire map at a time if the tank is destroyed you have to wait for it to re-spawn and so on, as Valve pointed out it will be a low scoring game. Next weeks mutation is another developers choice.

The Midnight Riders, Valve’s in-game rock stars, have released one of their popular songs to the general public available for free download right now! You can get “Save Me Some Sugar (This Won’t Take Long)” from the official Midnight Riders site right here! Also, Valve is running a special contest for those budding cinematographers out there. You can create the official music video for “Save Me Some Sugar” and win a custom guitar and gift pack from Valve. If you’re interested in entering the contest, the official rules and some assets can be found on the official Midnight Riders page.

Well for the last two nights i’ve stayed up and watched spike for hours, both nights expecting to see info on Valves newest game, Portal 2 and updates and info on Valves Left 4 Dead series. I missed it., watching for nearly 5 hours tonight it never came on for me, but thats ok! (more…)
