New Mutation: Healing Gnome

The good folks at Valve have released a new update today for Left 4 Dead 2, creating a new Mutation entitled Healing Gnome. As the name would imply, this is a mutation based around the popular garden gnome. It is the only way that you can heal yourself in the game, so you and your teammates will have to pass it around in order to heal up. It sounds like a very interesting experience- give it a try!

Valve is also holding a vote for their next mutation! The options are Bleedout Versus, Healing Gnome, Hunting Party, Lone Gunman, and Taaaaaank! All of these mutations are recycled from previous weeks, so if you liked one a lot and want to see it return, then head over to l4d.com and get your vote cast!

New Mutation: Bleed Out Versus

Valve’s latest mutation for Left 4 Dead 2 is one called Bleed Out Versus. It is a mutation that gives the Survivors non permanent health, meaning that your health is constantly dropping! You’re best served just rushing through the maps with this mutation on. It looks like a really hard one. Give it a try!

Next week’s mutation is Healing Gnome. This sounds like an interesting mutation. I expect it to mean that holding a gnome heals you, but I could be wrong. What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the Comments!

Original Left 4 Dead Released for Mac; New Community Campaign

In an amazing turn of fate, Valve has actually made a release date! Valve Time is working in our favor today, as the original Left 4 Dead has just been released for Mac. If you don’t already own the second L4D, both games are 50% off for a limited period- be sure to grab them now if you haven’t already! Here at MPC, we pretty much play only L4D2, so you can grab that by clicking here!

In other news, there is a new community campaign out for L4D2- this one is called The Haunted Forest. It seems to be a trek through a forest to reach a haunted mansion. You can download it from L4DMac right here: Click me! You can also play it on the L4DMac server. Have fun!

New Mutation: Lone Gunman

Valve has released a new mutation for its popular game, Left 4 Dead 2. This new mutation is called Lone Gunman. The core gameplay basis is that you and a Magnum pistol are versus the infected hordes and Boomers. It seems like a rather challenging mutation, so be sure to check it out!

Event: Left 4 Dead Team Versus Tournament

A member of the MPC forums, Breakdown, has proposed a Left 4 Dead 2 tournament. The tournament allows you to form teams of four to play against other teams in the league on certain campaigns and get prizes for being on top. It looks like a really good idea and we’re really excited to have it on our site!

New Mutation: Hunting Party

The good folks over at Valve have released today the first new mutation out since the release of The Sacrifice DLC. The new mutation of the week is one called Hunting Party. As you may have guessed from the name, the mutation centers around you and your teammates versus Hunters, and Hunters only. There are no other special infected to play against, though the common infected are still there for you to shoot. Give it a try!

Next week’s mutation is one called Lone Gunman. Maybe it’s a mutation where only one player has a gun? What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Tool: Ingame Server Browser

AG today has released the first version of his ingame Server Browser. This is a very simple VPK that you add to your addons directory, and it will enable a button on the main menu that will allow you to browse all sorts of servers without having to go through matchmaking. It’s good to use if you don’t want to have to do all the lobby stuff, or there is a particular server that you want to play on without having to add the IP to your command line.

L4D2 Mac and the Sacrifice DLC Live!

Thats right the L4D2/L4D and Mac versions of L4D2 are out and on the Steam servers awaiting download, its a little busy right now I personally can’t download it- because its so busy but we’ll see later tonight! So get downloading i expect we’ll have a L4D2 Gamenight in a few days!

The Sacrifice Achievements Detailed

Valve today has released a list of the new Achievements that you will be able to get in their new The Sacrifice DLC. There are five achievements to be achieved, and they seem to suggest a small amount of what the DLC will play like. What do you think? Give us your thoughts below!

The achievements are as follows:

Supreme Sacrifice

Complete The Sacrifice campaign.

Kill Bill

Have Bill sacrifice himself for the team.

Chaos Generator

Have all three generators running at once.

Sacrifizzle

As a Special Infected, incap someone who is trying to sacrifice themselves.

Barrel Rolled

Kill a Special Infected with an exploding barrel.

New Trailer Released for The Sacrifice!

Valve has released a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming DLC, The Sacrifice. The trailer is about a minute long and is composed of prerendered scenes. The Sacrifice will be released on October 5th, the same day that L4D will be released for all you Mac gamers out there. Rejoice!
